Zain Aboobaker worked for Customs in South Africa for seventeen years, eventually heading the anti-smuggling division before establishing a specialist consultancy in Kwazulu-Natal.  He weaves his varied experiences into stories that blur the distinction between the criminal and the ordinary man struggling to survive in a polarised world. Colourful characters swing between damnation and redemption, leaving the reader questioning their moral judgements. Ultimately, the question remains “What would YOU choose in that situation?” 
Aside from his passion for writing and posing difficult questions, Zain loves the ocean and you will find him most mornings bodysurfing along Durban’s golden mile.
